Macbook 13" 2009 model. Audio Midi Setup app used to create an aggregate device. The goal is the audio file as converted to see if its sound quality holds with these settings. The resulting Quicktime 10 player recording then exported using QT7 Pro with the setting in the pics returned a very reasonably sized file of just over 1Mb from almost 13Mb.
